Jessy first contacted us in November 2017 after several years of fighting hair loss with various products.

He attended our face to face examination in Paris in less than a month, on the 5th of December.

The doctor at the consultation found that his donor area would allow approx. 5000 hairs to be harvested.

As such, the doctor recommended using this amount to increase the density at the front, without lowering the hairline in the middle.

While he was happy with the treatment plan, he postponed the arrangements until after the holiday season.

Jessy reserved his 2-day procedure for April in January 2018.

We carried out his surgery on the 16-17th of April 2018 and transplanted 5174 hairs:

1st check-up 1 week after the surgery:

In the first seven days, patients have to use the sterile saline spray. They have to spray the implanted area lightly every waking hour.

This spray helps to keep the freshly implanted area clean until the tiny wounds close up.

Patients must start soaking the scabs off after the first week.

On the picture below you see the implanted area after the first soak:

There are a few scabs here and there, but the implanted hairs are in place.

There are some flakiness and a bit of redness, but it is common so shortly after the surgery.

2nd check-up 3 weeks after the surgery:

The thorough soaking and the gentle massage must be repeated daily. From the 3rd week, patients can start using baby shampoo as well.

As a result, the scabs disappear completely and the condition of the scalp improves.

Here is Jessy’s implanted area at the 2nd check-up:

Compared to the 1-week check-up, the hairs have visibly grown.

There are no more scabs or flakiness, but a pinkish colour peaks through here and there.

This amount of redness is still normal if there are no other issues. It is up to the sensitivity of the skin how long it will take to disappear.

3rd check-up 3 months after the treatment:

By the 3rd check-up, the transplanted hairs fall out.

Jessy went through this process too:

As you can see in the picture, the condition returned to the starting point.

But, especially at the hairline, you can also see a few short, prickly hairs. These are the very first hairs that have started to grow out already.

The process is different in each case, there are no strict deadlines.

4th check-up 6 months after the surgery:

New hairs start to appear in larger numbers from the 4th month after the hair transplant.

Each transplanted root will have its own pace. While some push out new hair strands earlier, others will remain in the resting phase longer. As a result, the change will be gradual.

Let’s see Jessy’s check-up photo:

By the 4th check-up, the difference was clearly visible.

New hairs have grown out in a good number already, providing a fairly good coverage.

Final check-up 1 year after the surgery:

The transplanted hairs grow out in 12-15 months after the surgery.

While there are cases when the doctors request an additional check-up, typically the last assessment is carried out at the 1-year mark.

For his final check-up, Jessy attended an appointment again in Paris on the 13th of May 2019.

We were happy to see his result:

The implanted area filled up nicely since the previous check-up.

The hairline became more pronounced, and a good density was achieved at the frontal zone.
